WHAT IS THE #54DAYSOFHEARTCHALLENGE?

A Bit of Background

Southern Scholars was established to honor the lives and legacies of Dr. Doretha Pressey and her beloved mother, Mrs. Clara Mae Coleman.  In addition to a sincere devotion to their families and a profound respect for the power of education, these phenomenal women also shared a commitment to giving back and to helping those in need, whenever they could.  It is for this reason that generosity and community service are central tenets of Southern Scholars’ mission.

Why 54 Days?

Dr. Pressey’s birthday was February 18th and Mrs. Coleman’s birthday is exactly 54 days away, on April 12th.

What Are the Goals of This Challenge?

The most important goal of the #54daysofheartchallenge is to celebrate the legacy of generosity, goodness, and love that Dr. Pressey and Mrs. Coleman were both so well known for!  In doing this, we hope to inspire you – our friends, family, followers, and supporters to open your hearts and commit to helping as many people as you can in any way you can for the next 54 days!

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

There are so many ways to get involved!  Below are just a few ideas:
