Mrs. Monica Washington Speaks
Monica Washington Speaks is a native of Saint Stephen, South Carolina who is an experienced educator with over 20 years of service as a high school math teacher and administrator. She has pursued her passion for ensuring excellence in education for all students in a variety of settings to include urban, suburban, and rural across several states. Monica currently serves as a head principal at an at-risk high school in Houston, Texas where she utilizes her leadership skills to promote student and adult learning and facilitate lasting student achievement and development by maximizing the efforts of teachers, students, and other stakeholders. Monica earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics Education from Charleston Southern University in 1997 and her Master’s in Educational Administration K-12 from the University of South Carolina in 2009. She and her husband, Lou, reside in Houston, Texas with their two daughters Kaitlyn and Alyssa.
